Tech Transfer Workshop*
Covid-19 Vaccination required to attend 2021 Living Shorelines Tech Transfer Workshop in person
The 2021 Living Shorelines Tech Transfer Workshop is the premier nationwide gathering of the living shorelines community of practice.
Hosted by Restore America's Estuaries, American Littoral Society, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and the Chesapeake Bay and New Jersey field offices of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, we are excited to invite you to beautiful Cape May, New Jersey, this upcoming October.
We are bringing together experts from across the country for a two-day experience combining interactive field sessions with ground-breaking discussions.
Topics will include adoption of living shorelines, regulation, engaging your community, new techniques, and more. VIEW THE CURRENT AGENDA!
This workshop is geared towards anyone working in the marketing, design, construction, management, and permitting of living shorelines and nature-based shoreline stabilization.
All tickets include:
- Access to all events: plenary, panels and small group discussions
- Field event to a local Living Shorelines project
- Ability to submit a poster
- Access to the exhibitor hall
- Lunch on both days
- Reception on Day One, including heavy hors d'oeuvres and one drink ticket
The field sessions are a centerpiece of the workshop. We will take about half a day to explore a local living shorelines project to learn from the project team how the project was designed, implemented, and maintained. More information on specific sites will be available in August.
Field sessions are part of the overall event and are open only to those who register and pay the registration fee. Participation in field sessions is optional but included in the registration cost. Partial or one-day registrations are not permitted.
Field sessions will most likely be outdoors and exposed to the elements, and will occur rain or shine. Walking or standing on unpaved ground may be required. Please plan accordingly.
